Stop Fading Concerns with Window Film Phoenix, AZ

Fading Issues?

What Causes Fading!

Three things cause fading:
3. Heat

 Can Fading Be Eliminated Completely?

Yes, if you want to live in a cool, dry, and totally dark environment, which I am guessing most people would not wish to live this way.

What Can Be Done to Help Reduce Fading?

Adding window film can help reduce fading of your furniture, floors, and window treatments.

Most window film companies add UV absorbers into their adhesives instead of the film itself.  What difference does this make?  Over time, those absorbers begin to break up and disappear, thus causing more rapid deterioration of the UV protectorates, which means fading may occur sooner than using a window film that also has UV absorbers in their film.

LLumar and Vista Brands have UV absorbers in their adhesives AND in their films, which means your items are protected longer than using one of our competitors film.

FAQ's About Fading

Q. Does Window Film Protect All Colors and Fabrics
A. Certain fabrics and colors are more susceptible to damage (ie. red). Window film can help extend the life, but not as long as with other colors.

Papers, inks, natural plant dyes are more susceptible to fading than synthetics.

Q. Do I have to install a dark film for protection?
A. Not necessarily.   As mentioned above, three things cause fading - UV light, Visible light, and Heat.  All of our films have block 99 - 99.9% UV light; however you will receive greater fading protection if a darker film is installed (darker films generally block more heat, which reduces visible light, which elongates fading issues). If you want to block high heat, but not lose light, EnerLogic would be your best choice!

Q. How is UV light stopped when applying window film?
A. UV light is stopped at the film by the use of ultraviolet absorbers in the film. Absorbers function by absorbing UV energy and re-radiating it at longer less damaging wavelengths.
