How to Keep Your House Cooler!
Air Conditioning works great, but unless you want an extremely high bill, use some of these tips to help keep your A/C from not working as hard!
1. Window Film

LLumar and Vista Window Films have been used since the late 70's and with advanced technology, it is a great and inexpensive way to cool your home, while keeping your views!
2. Close blinds and shades during the hottest time of the day
Although window film does an exceptional job of keeping your home cool, closing your window treatments can help in aiding the film and keeping your rooms cool.
3. Utility company programs
Utility companies have different programs that help save money and deter excessive usage of your A/C during the hottest time of the day. APS's plan is from 12-7, in which we pay more to run our A/C and other appliances. We keep our house at 70 degrees from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. and then increase it to 84 until 7. At 7, we gradually bring our A/C down (84-79-74).
Having it cool from 9 -12 cools are house down so much, that our A/C doesn't kick on until 6:00 or 6:30, saving us a lot of money (so far, we saved $75 this month compared to last year at the same time)
4. Consult an Energy Expert
Companies such as Cool Blew will give you a home evaluation to see where you can start saving energy and money! They will give you great tips (such as my #3) to help you reduce your overall energy costs.
