Plantation Shutters in Arizona

Basswood Plantation Shutters

Basswood is a superior wood because it is among the straightest of hardwoods with a fine uniform texture and indistinct grain. It can be sanded and stained to a smooth finish, and it is lightweight yet very strong

Longevity in Arizona

With our hot sun it is a concern of longevity when it comes to shutters.  Our shutters have a lifetime guarantee against fading and warping.  Basswood shutters will not warp in our heat!

Custom

All of our shutters are custom made to fit your windows.  The shutters can also be painted to match your decor at no extra charge (stains are extra).  You can also choose your hinge color, openings (tri-fold, bi-fold, etc) and size of louvers (how big the slats are) at no extra charge.

Manufactured in Phoenix since 1971

Did you know that when you purchase shutters through big box companies they contract with companies that generally go out of business?  Who will honor your guarantee if this occurs?
We work with Heritage Shutters which is a family owned business that has been around since 1971.  Longevity in this field is important since there are many businesses that come and go and when you need them, you can't find them.

Cost for an Estimate

FREE! We never charge for an estimate, regardless if you use us or not! We believe in offering quality products and quality service and will never charge you for taking time to ensure you receive the best shutters.

Cost for Shutters

Shutters are priced on a square foot basis.  The cost for our basswood, high quality shutters range between $23 - $25 per square foot. This price includes your choice of openings, hinge color, paint color and installation.  Additional charges are for stained wood and a build-out if you are using shutters on your patio doors. Veterans ALWAYS receive a 10% discount!

#13 - Control energy costs

We wish architects knew that they need to know more about window film. It is gaining recognition over the years and we do believe window film education will become more comprehensive in the future. No one can argue the numerous advantages of window film over tinted glass. It is one of the most effective, economical methods of controlling energy costs

Many films can help save $200-$1000 of energy savings per year, with an estimated ROI of 2-4 years (depending on where you live).  What a great way to not only save money on energy, but also save money on replacing furnishings, carpet, and other window treatments sooner then you need.

#11 - Window Film Provides Safety and Security

There are also several safety and security benefits for using window films. Along with personal safety, films also protect against damage to or loss of physical property (anti-intrusion, graffiti control), business interruption, and natural disasters (blast-mitigation, violent storms, etc.).

Don't let your business be a target of vandalism, install safety and security film, or anti-graffiti film and not only save in window replacement, but also with loss of product and clean up.

#9 - Use Window Film instead of Replacing Windows

Want to upgrade your windows, but can't afford the cost?  Window film is an excellent way to add insulation, while protecting your furnishings at a fraction of the cost of window replacement.

Windows generally block about 40% of the heat, so adding window film will increase this blockage and save your furnishings.

In fact, according to the website homewyse.com, if you live in the Surprise, AZ area it can cost you approximately $55.68/sq foot to replace 1 window -- compare that to approximately $5/sq foot to tint your window.

LLumar window films come with a lifetime warranty too so you never need to worry about peeling, fading, or discoloration while you live in your home.  Not only will you save money by NOT upgrading your windows, you will also save money on your cooling costs.

#5 - Decorative film can enhance appearances while saving money

The most important thing architects should know is how versatile decorative window film is now. By utilizing the available technology, the ability to customize film with a custom graphic or message makes decorative film a highly appealing option.

Although there are 100's of decorative films to choose from, you may still want yours customized for your needs.

Check out this picture to see a customized office door.  This was applied with 1 sheet of decorative film and the professional installer cut out parts of the film to create a pattern throughout their office.

#3 - Window film blocks many things including heat

Looking for the 2nd Top Reason?  Check out our other blog for more misconceptions.

Solar radiation from the sun is divided into three components; visible light we can see, and infrared and ultraviolet rays which we can only feel. As solar radiation strikes a piece of glass, window film acts as a ‘sunscreen’ to block harmful UV rays as well as regulate the levels of heat and light passing through the glass. The amount of heat and light rejected is all dependent on the type of window film selected. They are the cost-effective alternative to tinted or decorative glass replacement.

Most films will cut 99% of the UV rays from entering into your home.

Total Solar Energy Rejected (which accounts for visible and infrared) can vary between 20-87% reduction, which means great savings for you.

Most films have winter radiant heat numbers too -- films can block 5-15% of your radiant heat from leaving your home in the winter, thus saving money on your heating bills too.

20 Things You Should know about Residential and Commercial Window Film - #1

The next 2 weeks will be dedicated to misconceptions about window film.  You can find the information on this blog or our website blog (click here for the website blog).

We believe strongly in not only providing professional and excellent customer service, but also of being honest with our clients.  Yes we want to sell our products, but we will NOT do it at the expense of the consumers by lying or distorting the truth.

We hope these misconceptions help you better understand window film and please contact us if you would like a free on site estimate with people who care and will NEVER pressure you to buy.

There are many misconceptions based on past experience about window film.
Car film is purple so why would it be different in my house?

First of all, you pay for what you get.  LLumar offers automotive film that will not discolor, but if you want the $99 or less install - you will be getting purple film.

Misconception 1
LLumar window film is designed with a patented adhesive that has not had an adhesive failure since in conception in 1977.
This adhesive bonds to the window and basically "becomes one" with the window.  Because of this adhesive, the UV protectors in the adhesive to not breakdown overtime, which means your window film will NOT turn purple, but will in fact look like a very expensive piece of glass, but only 1/2 to 3/4 of the price of new windows.
